Requirements: BLS, ACLS certifications; 2 years of recent PACU experience; Active and unencumbered nursing license for South Dakota or compact licensure.
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. This is a 10-week travel assignment offering a rewarding opportunity to utilize your skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
As a PACU RN, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia. Your expertise will be crucial in monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and ensuring a smooth transition for patients as they recover.
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and experienced RN with a strong background in PACU nursing, capable of working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical procedures.
- Assess airway, vital signs, and level of consciousness.
- Manage pain, nausea, and other post-operative complications.
- Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered.
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams.
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition.
- Provide patient and family education for post-op recovery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Dakota or compact state.
- Minimum 2 years of recent PACU experience.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
